Empties - Products I've Used Up | 006

Hello and welcome to my sixth empties post! I've mentioned a few times that I've been making the choice to buy a lot less makeup this year. Partly to save money, but also because I have a lot of products that are starting to creep up in age. I want to give them all a bit more use before they expire, or I declutter them. A lot of my powder products are older, so I don't want to keep adding to my collection unless I'm also letting things go.

Because of this, I've been seeing a lot more use out of the products I currently have. I've hit pan on two highlighters this month, which is crazy for me! None of them are close to being done, but it's so refreshing to see my products not look untouched. The products this time around are mainly skincare, with a few makeup bits too. It's always the way these posts go though, makeup is really hard to actually finish if you have a lot of it. So let's get into it:

Mizon | Enjoy Vital-Up Time Watery Moisture Mask | $2 AUD
I pick up a few of these masks just about every time I go to a Mecca store. They're great for a quick hit of moisture and such an affordable price. I've been through probably 20 of them in total. If you have skin that is prone to dryness, these are great to have on hand. I have a few more of these sitting in my skincare box at the moment.

Innisfree | My Real Squeeze Mask - Tea Tree | $1.94 AUD
I was gifted this sheet mask along with a serum when Innisfree launched their Melbourne store. When I was a teenager I would drench my face with undiluted tea tree oil until it burned to try to get rid of breakouts (big mistake). So it was kind of nice to have a pleasant experience with tea tree. It was a very soothing and refreshing sheet mask. I'll probably pick it up again and try a few others from the range next time I'm near the store.

Farmacy | Honey Drop Lightweight Moisturiser | $61 AUD
I'd been wanting to try something from Farmacy for quite a while when I picked up this moisturiser. I've had nothing but good experiences with honey in skincare, so the line has always interested me. I really enjoyed this when the weather was warmer, but as winter crept up it wasn't quite enough for my skin. It was a light consistency and sinks in quickly. If you're not dry, or don't like the feel of a heavy moisturiser, this one is worth a shot. I tend to prefer a thicker cream year round, so while this was good it's just not quite for me.

This is quite a nice exfoliating serum. I used it every two or three nights to help keep my skin from getting congested and textured. I've been finished with this for a couple of weeks and I've noticed that my skin isn't quite as smooth as it was while I was using this. I'm not repurchasing right now, but I'll probably pick this up again when I go to America in August. It works and it's reasonably priced so I'd be happy to have it back in my night routine.

I kept this by my bedside table and used it before bed most nights. It's really nice for before bed because it sinks in and doesn't get all over your pillows and in your hair. At night I mostly use moisturisers to lock in and serums and oils that I've used first. This definitely did the job well, but I think I want to see if I can find something more affordable for the way I use it.

I decided to try this as a point perk when it first came out. It was getting a lot of hype from bigger social media influencers so it definitely got me curious. It was a fine eye cream, but honestly nothing really special. I much prefer my Kiehl's Creamy Avocado Eye Treatment or the Youth To The People Eye Cream that I'm currently using.

I was so sad to finish another bottle of this! Glow Tonic gets a lot of hype and for good reason. It's a very gentle exfoliating toner that just works. It's soothing enough for daily use, which can be tricky to find in a product like this. I have a few products in my collection to fill the void for now, but once they're finished I'll definitely repurchase this.

I got this during the summer, because really, is there a better summer scent than mango? Not for me. I'm definitely going to pick up a bigger size of this next summer. I think it would be a little cruel to use this in winter and not actually have mangoes to eat in the house.

I've been using Benefit perfumes since I was in high school. This one has a light floral and fruity scent. Great for during the day. All of their perfumes last a full day on me, which is one of the reasons I always find myself coming back to them. I'm not sure if this one is currently available, they have a tendency to come and go. But if you see it in stores, this is one to give a spritz and try out.

I had really mixed experiences with this foundation. When I first started using it, I loved it. It would almost melt into my skin and made my skin look so healthy. Completely evened my skin but still let my freckles shine through, lasted all day and never felt heavy. But I think it went bad before I got to finish it. The last five times or so that I used it... It was bad. Cakey, patchy, not at all blendable. It's not as if I had it sitting going unused for years. I don't want to buy a foundation if I can't finish it before it expires, so I won't be getting this again.

What a dream this mascara is! Not clumpy, no smudging and so much volume. The wand is shaped nicely, allowing you to coat every lash. Definitely a pricey product, but honestly, worth it. I've always loved Too Faced Better Than Sex, and this one is very similar, but I prefer it just a touch more. I'll repurchase eventually, but right now I'd pick up BTS over it, just to save a few bucks.

Like the Tarte foundation mentioned above, this stopped working for me before I could fully finish it. Which is really quite surprising, because there isn't much product in it to begin with. Just like the foundation, I used it so frequently that it wasn't sitting there gathering dust. It went from being a really pretty concealer to making me look like I have scales for skin. I'd probably pick this up again if Colourpop had free international shipping, but it's not worth it for the hassle it takes to get here. While it was good, it was great. But when it was bad, it was terrible.

Thanks for reading!
