January Beauty Favourties

So January is well and truly over and February has begun. I know mentioning that a month went quickly is cliched... But it really did for me. Probably because I had time off work for the first and last week. That also meant that I didn't wear makeup as much, and on days that I wasn't working I hardly bothered. The handful of times I did, these were the products I found myself reaching for.

I had seen a few beauty gurus I watch talk about the Ole Henriksen Truth Serum and decided to pick up a full size trio from Sephora after Christmas. I wanted to try an alternative to the Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum, which I liked but didn't really think was worth the price tag. I have really been liking this one and have definitely noticed that it has brightened my complexion so far.

Mecca Cosmetica To Save Face Superscreen is a long time favourite of mine. It's not greasy, sits really well under makeup and feels almost hydrating on the skin. Sunscreen is definitely a year round product for me, but I always appreciate it even more during summer.

I feel like in every favourites post there's a last minute contender. This month that title goes to the First Aid Beauty Skin Tint. I used this a couple of times when going to the beach and running errands and it really is perfect for a no-fuss look. It adds a tiny bit of coverage and dries to a satin finish. It's quickly becoming a weekend staple for me.

I know it's kind of bad form to talk about no long available products in posts like these, but the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Volume 3 has captured my heart in a big way. If you can still find it anywhere, I 100% recommend it. Their single Ambient Lighting Powders and Ambient Lighting Blushes were already stand outs in my collection, so it's no wonder I fell so hard for this palette.

I'm a year round fan of cream and liquid products. I find that they keep my skin looking healthy, luminous and a little more natural than powders. I've been loving using the Stila Convertible Colour in Peony, the Milk Makeup Matte Bronzer in Baked and the Marc Jacobs Dew Drops. They work beautifully together and independently from each other as well. All three were purchases I made in December (whoops) but I'm so happy that I've been loving them all so much.

That's that for my favourites for January! What products topped your lists?

  3. I'm really interested in trying the Marc Jacobs Dew Drops but do you use it as a highlighter or can you use it all over the face as a radiance primer?
