Yearly Favourites | 2017

Hello and Happy New Years Eve! I'm just barely squeezing this post in before 2017 ends. I can't believe how quickly this year has come to an end. Every year feels like it goes by faster than the one before, so I feel like it will be 2038 soon. Wow, that's a scary thought. Let's get to the makeup.

I used a lot of new products this year, but not everything I've listed here was a new discovery. I narrowed it down as much as I could, but there are still a lot of things listed here. In order to not have this post be too long I tried to keep my words short and sweet.

If you have dry skin, this primer is a life saver. Packs a punch of hydration, leaves your skin glowing, keeps foundation on all day. I discovered this a few months ago and it's fast on it's way to becoming a holy grail product for me.

SMASHBOX - PORE MINIMISING PHOTO FINISH PRIMER
In the first half of the year, I really noticed my pores. They were more noticeable under makeup than they ever had been. They aren't as big of a problem for me now, but at the time they really bothered me. I used this primer so often because it made such a huge difference.

Lightweight, good coverage, radiant finish. This foundation is pretty much everything I look for. It's the only foundation in my current collection that I have more than one shade of. That's how you know it's a favourite.

LANCOME - TEINT IDOLE ULTRA WEAR FOUNDATION (008)
This foundation is so beautiful. Like, completely. It's a little less natural looking on me than the Tarte one, but my god it's perfect for days I want to go beyond 'no makeup makeup'. This year a lot of the foundations I used to love started looking cakey on me, so I'm so happy to have found a non-dewy one that still works for me.

COLOURPOP - NO FILTER CONCEALER (FAIR 5)
I've reached for this concealer so much this year that it's a wonder I have any left. The yellow undertone is perfect for me, the coverage is beautiful and it doesn't dry out my undereyes.

MAC - PRO LONGWEAR CONCEALER (NC15)
This is a total must have for me. Covers everything while keeping my skin looking dewy. I think I'm on my third bottle for the year. Not a new discovery by any means, but I reached for it more this year than I ever have.

BECCA - UNDER EYE BRIGHTENING CORRECTOR
My dark circle saviour. I used this so consistently this year that I finished it after falling in love with it last year. If I use this under foundation, I barely use concealer. It makes me look awake when I don't feel it. It's definitely a holy grail product.

TARTE - FILTERED LIGHT SETTING POWDER
The first loose powder that has ever worked for me. I've been using this to lightly set my cheeks before blush and bronzer and it makes everything blend so nicely. It doesn't cake up around my eyes, chin or nose either.
IT COSMETICS - BYE BYE PORES PRESSED
Another product that I completely finished up. I used this to set my base for most of the year and I miss it so much that I have got to get a new one. Helps blur pores, makes your skin feel soft. Just lovely.

MAC - STUDIO FIX POWDER PLUS FOUNDATION (C3)
This powder has barely left my handbag all year. It's all I ever have on hand for touch ups. I hit pan on it a few weeks ago and I'm honestly surprised that it took that long.

PHYSICIANS FORMULA - BUTTER BRONZER (LIGHT)
I find it so hard to not reach for this bronzer. I am usually good at rotating products by this one is so beautiful! Plus the scent, oh my god. Easily my most used bronzers this year.

ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS - FOUNDATION STICK (SHADOW)
I'm not sure if anything will ever top this cream contour for me. It's that perfect shade for me that works as a bronzer as well. Completely foolproof. It's my go-to if I don't want to fuss around.

MILANI - BAKED BLUSH (DOLCE PINK)
Picking one powder blush was hard, but I don't think I could have chosen anything else. I've really grown to love the healthy flush of colour Dolce Pink brings to my cheeks since hauling it in July. Plus, Milani's Baked Blush formula is one of my favourites.

BECCA - BEACH TINT SHIMMER SOUFFLE (GUAVA/MOONSTONE)
For the first few months of this year I didn't put this down. These blushes don't get enough love, but they are so beautiful and were the perfect introduction to cream blushes for me. Since it's warmed up again recently I have been going back to it again.

CHARLOTTE TILBURY - FILMSTAR BRONZE & GLOW
A cult favourite for a reason. Not only is the packaging stunning, but the powders inside are magical. I douse my face in both and I don't see myself stopping anytime soon.

MECCA COSMETICA - ENLIGHTENED LIT FROM WITHIN ILLUMINATING BALM
This highlighter is so unbelievably beautiful. I can't even put in to words how gorgeous this looks on the skin. Let me just say that it's all my dewy, glowy dreams come true.

ELF - BAKED HIGHLIGHTER (MOONLIGHT PEARLS)
I didn't expect to be blown away when I picked this up on a whim, but I was! Moonlight Pearls is a gorgeous vanilla shade that just melts into my skin for that perfect healthy glow.

COLOURPOP - PRESSED POWDER SHADOW
I'll be doing a post all about my custom Colourpop palette soon, but even since my original order of just four shadows, it's been love. They perform as well as my ABH singles for a fraction of the price, definitely one of my favourite releases this year.

HUDA BEAUTY - DESERT DUSK EYESHADOW PALETTE
I reviewed this back in October and I've only fallen more in love with it since. The shades are so rich and beautiful. I'm so happy that I picked this up.

I contemplated not putting brow products in this post, just because my routine is so set in stone that I don't really chance it up. But it didn't feel right not to mention these two, both holy grail products of mine.
TARTE - LIGHTS CAMERA LASHES MASCARA
This mascara is so good! It gives the perfect amount of length and volume. Lasts all day without smudging. Can be built up for a more dramatic look. I'm on my third (or fourth?) tube of the year.

TOO FACED - BETTER THAN SEX MASCARA
My all time favourite and one of my most reached for this year. It packs on so much volume without ever clumping on me. I just finished a tube and I'm itching to pick up a replacement.

TARTE - COLOUR SPLASH HYDRATING LIPSTICK (RUM PUNCH)
I don't think I've heard a single negative word spoken about these lipsticks. They're essentially the perfect bullet lipstick formula. Opaque, comfortable, long-lasting. I have this shade and Skinny Dip but I know I'll get at least one more in 2018.

TOO FACED - SWEET PEACH CREAMY OIL LIP GLOSS (PEACHISCLE)
This was the only product I picked up from the Sweet Peach range and I am so glad I did. The words creamy, oil and gloss feel like they wouldn't all fit one product but they really do. Plus the shade is a pretty peachy-nude that I always find myself reaching for.

LANCOME - JUICY SHAKER (PIECE OF CAKE)
Another product I didn't discover this year, but it wouldn't have been right not to mention. I've spoken about this more in depth in this post if you want to know more.

HERBIVORE BOTANICALS - BLUE TANSY RESURFACING CLARITY MASK
This mask transforms my skin like no other. It practically erases texture. I don't know what more to say, but it's everything I was looking for and am so happy to have it.

MIZON - SHEET MASKS
These were such a good discovery this year! They're such a lovely pick-me-up for my skin. The packaging is also adorable and they're affordable too. I always have a couple of these in my house.

KHIEL'S CREAMY EYE TREATMENT WITH AVOCADO
I'm yet to find an eye cream that works as well as this one does. It's rich, but sinks in quickly. It's given my dry undereyes a little life and a lot of love.

CLINIQUE - TAKE THE DAY OFF CLEANSING BALM
There is nothing that removes my makeup as well as this does! I'm just about finished my second tub and I'll be rushing out to get a new one right away. It gets every hint of makeup off and doesn't clog up my skin in the process.

PIXI - GLOW TONIC
Glow Tonic became an essential part of my morning routine this year. It's so gentle but it leaves my skin looking so beautifully radiant.

IT COSMETICS - CONFIDENCE IN A CREAM
Every skincare product mentioned was one I tried for the first time in 2017. I got this in my Beautylish Lucky Bag at the start of the year and recently picked up another one from Sephora. It makes my skin feel so soft and look so plump, no moisturiser has come close to beating it yet.

Thanks for reading! What products made it to the top of your list this year?
