October Favourites

So October has come to an end and it's been quite a busy month for me. I settled into my new house, joined a new gym and binge watched Stranger Things 2. Thanks to Sephora having a 20% off sale, I did a lot more makeup shopping than I usually do, so I was kept busy by trying new products.

Luckily for me, I've ended up loving pretty much everything I've tried, even though most purchases were on the impulsive side of things. A few not-so-recent loves also made their way in to my most used and enjoyed products this month.

First on my list is the Huda Beauty Desert Dusk Palette. It's a gorgeous warm toned palette that I've barely put down since getting. I have a full review with swatches here and I love it even more than I did at the time of writing it. Musk, Cashmere and Oud paired with each other has been a go-to work look. I need to force myself to put it down in November to give my other eyeshadows some love.

Another product that I've spoke a bit about on here lately is the Nudestix Lip + Cheek Pencil in Whisper. It's my perfect My Lips But Better shade and I have worn it so much this October. I wrote more about it in this post, which is all about my favourite nude lipsticks. I still haven't tried this out on my cheeks, because I kind of keep forgetting it's not solely a lip product. Products like this are why I hardly ever wear liquid lipsticks. I can't convince myself that wearing a product that will ultimately leave my lips dry and dehydrated is worth it when I have products like this in my collection. These last a fairly long time before having to reapply and stay comfortable the whole time. Hopefully I can resist picking up every other shade in this line.

The Anastasia Blush Trio in Pool Party contains a really interesting combination of shades. A deep mauve, cool bright pink and warm coral. I can actually use the shade on the left (Kash) as blush, bronzer or contour depending on placement and how much I build it up.

The Tarte Filtered Light Setting Powder has a silky smooth texture and smells like a damn cupcake. My skin is dry, so I really only need setting powder in humid conditions, but this one keeps my makeup in place so well. I'm never going to be someone that has 10 different loose powders in my collection, so I'm really happy to have this one that works so well for me.

I've been super interested in Fenty Beauty since the brand launched, and one of the products I had to try was the Killawat Freestyle Highlighter Duo. I decided on the shade Lightning Dust/Fire Crystal because it looked most suited to my skin tone. The left side of the compact has a more subtle looking highlight, while the right side is far more intense and slightly glittery. I never really saw myself being interested in a glittery highligter, but I guess there really is a time and place for everything. It just so happens that the time is now and the place is all over my face.

The only bronzer that has ever rivaled my love for Nars Laguna is the Physician's Formula Butter Bronzer. Between the natural sunkissed appearance it leaves on my cheeks and the tropical scent, I understand why this product has such a cult following. They need to release this in a few more shades so everyone can have a chance to fall in love.

Lastly, the First Aid Beauty Hello FAB Cocounut Skin Smoothie Priming Moisturiser has been a real stand out in my collection this month. It's hydrating, illuminating and doesn't emphasise my pores. It reminds me of the Becca Backlight Priming Filter but I like this one so much more. It keeps my skin looking dewy and fresh all day, plus the packaging is completely travel-friendly.

So that's it for my October favourites! What products stood out to you this month?
