Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics Review

If your Instagram feed is anything like mine, you'll have heard of Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics. This year I've been seeing their products in flatlays and in blog posts. When they reached out to me and asked if I would like to try some of their products, I was so excited. I always get a little giddy when I try or buy products that people I trust rave about.

I read through their website to learn more about mineral cosmetics, because to be honest, I really don't know much about them. What I gathered was that because their products don't contain a lot of ingredients that can be irritants or bad for your skin (talc, mineral oil, alcohol) they are better for your skin. Their website states that they were created to be able to used on damaged skin while still allowing it to breathe.

I've been testing out these products for about a month now, so here are my thoughts on them all:

If you've been reading my blog for a little while, you know that I am all about traditional bullet lipsticks. I just find them so much easier to wear than liquid lipsticks. As a typical makeup addict, I'm always looking to add new ones to my collection. Their Lipstick ($38) in the shade Bliss is a beautiful warm pinky-nude. With one swipe it's a slightly sheer 'my lips but better' shade. It's easy to layer and build up without becoming thick or gloopy. The lipstick contains plenty of oils to keep it from drying out your lips. It's not a super long lasting formula, but I'm happy to reapply throughout the day, so it's not a negative for me.

For a few months now I've been seeing their CC Perfecting Primer ($54) featuring in Instagram posts from some of my favourite bloggers. It colour corrects, it blurs pores, it keeps my makeup in place all day. It's basically all I need in a primer. I have the shade Bare, for light to medium skintones. Because of the tint it even works well on no makeup days, when you just need a little something to make you look alive.

Their Liquid Mineral Foundation ($79.95) is lightweigh, hydrating and dewy. I have the shade Shell which is a little dark for me (Nars Siberia is my perfect match), but should be perfect for summer. I've worn it around the house a few times for 7 - 8 hours each time and I have to say, it really holds up beautifully. It's one of those foundations that looks like skin, instead of looking like mask that's sitting on your skin.

I was most exited to receive their Luminous Crème Blushes ($44) in the shades Pink Cashmere and Tropical Glow. I've been loving using cream products on my cheeks lately, so I dipped into these as soon as I finished taking photos of them. #bloggerlife Tropical Glow is a warm pink with a subtle golden shimmer. Pink Cashmere is a cooler than Tropical Glow, but still has a peachy warmth to it. Unlike Tropical Glow, there is no shimmer.

They are both incredibly pigmented, so you only need the smallest amount. These little pots are going to last me forever, so I'm glad I like them as much as I do. They blend out even better than my Becca Beach Tint Shimmer Souffle, which is a true long time love of mine.

I know that $44 for a blush is on the pricey side, but I can't recommend these enough. They work really well for my normal to dry skin, and with the formula being oil-free they could work well for oily skin too.

I want to thank Youngblood for sending me out these products to try.
As always, my opinions on products will not be swayed based on them being sent to me.

  2. Oh my, Youngblood is one of my favourite makeup brands going around at the moment. I am seriously obsessed. Their CC primer is absolutely my HG right now. I wear it alone as 'makeup' to work and it makes my skin look so beautiful throughout the whole day!
