Tarte Make Believe In Yourself Eye and Cheek Palette

I didn't need another eyeshadow palette. Like, at all. I didn't need another eyeshadow palette the last four or five times I got a new one. But hey, I don't smoke or drink. I'm allowed to have one vice. That vice just happens to be really pretty makeup. And Tarte really know what they're doing when it comes to really pretty makeup.

The Make Believe In Yourself Eye and Cheek palette retails on the Tarte website for $41 AUD, or on the Sephora Australia website for $60 AUD. It contains 10 eyeshadows and a highlight. The palette is round with a fun pink, purple and blue design on the front. The inside is gold and features a mirror. The palette feels quite sturdy, which would make it suitable for travel.

The highlighter looks like any other pearl in the pan and on a finger swatch. However, when applied with a brush on the cheeks it has a peachy-pink sheen to it. It is well pigmented, but able to be applied lightly for a more subtle effect. You can build it up with little effort if a brighter glow is your thing. It works well on my skin tone, but I imagine it would look ashy on anyone with a skin tone that is darker than 'medium'.

I love every single eyeshadow in this palette. Tarte make some of my favourite palettes, the In Bloom palette makes me turn into that emoji with the hearts for eyes.  This one has a few more unique shades, and trust me, they're even better in person.

Myth is a warm-toned nude pink, a really good choice for the only matte in the palette. The other shades are all highly pigmented metallics. They all wear and apply beautifully. Crystal and Pixie are the shades that the swatches don't do justice. Crystal is described on their website as a iridescent champagne. In person it appears to have a purple undertone with a gold reflect. I am not the best at describing colours, but this one is just gorgeous. They list Pixie as a golden pink which is perfectly true, but it looks a lot more vibrant in person than it does in my swatch.

I am so glad to have picked up this palette. If you're looking to expand your collection (or if you're just a sucker for pretty things) I'm sure you'd love this palette just like I do. I think my Tartelette palette has found a new best friend in this little guy.
