Lush Catastrophy Cosmetic Fresh Face Mask Review

In the passed few months I have become well and truly obsessed with skincare. I used to moisturise of a morning and night and call it a day, but now I have a complete routine. I've seen a huge difference in my skin since I've started taking care of it (shocking, right!?) and masking has been a huge part of that. I try do a mask every second night, and I recently picked up this one to try.

Lush Catastrophe Cosmetic Fresh Face Mask
The Lush Catastrophe Cosmetic Fresh Face Mask contains blueberries, chamomile, calamine, Irish moss gel and almond oil. It retails for $13.95 on the Lush website. They describe it as being calming, cleansing and mositurising which I find to be completely true. Like all Lush products, it is cruelty free, vegetarian and ethically sourced.

The mask is to be kept in the fridge as it is perishable. When I brought it the Sales Assistant told me that is is essentially a 'smoothie for your face'. I was told to use it up within three weeks, which will be easy to do. Because it doesn't last very long, the container is quite small so there won't be any product that goes to waste. As it is kept in the fridge, it has a cold, cooling sensation when you apply it. It has a thick consistency and smells like blueberries. It comes off easily after 10 minutes on the face with a little warm water. It doesn't tighten or tingle, instead it completely soothes my skin. It calms my redness and leaves my skin feeling incredibly soft.
This is the first skincare product I've used from Lush and it's made me so excited to try more. I've used up the entire tub and got about six applications from it. It seems to be the perfect mask for when your skin needs a little TLC in addition to your current routine. I think I purchased it at the perfect time, with the weather adapting to the change of season. I know I'll be picking another one up the next time I pop into a Lush store.

Considering that just writing out this post has made me want to use it again, I think this mask is a winner. Do you have any Lush products you love? Outside of bath bombs, I'm fairly new to their range. Let me know in the comment section x

Thanks Rasna!

  1. Oooh sounds lovely! I go for more 'tightening' masks but this sounds like it'd be amazing on the skin! I don't use many lush products but their massage bars are heavenly. Great post x

  2. I'm glad you're liking this one too! I definitely agree, it's totally soothing and calming. I love Lush skincare - their ultrabland cleanser and tea tree water are some of my faves! Remember to keep the container because when you take five back you get a free face mask! :)

  3. This mask sounds completely delightful! I'll be getting a tub of it next time I visit Lush. At the moment I'm loving the Lush Whoosh Shower Jelly. It's lemon, lime and rosemary scented. I think it was a special edition Christmas product however, I don't know if it is currently available.

  5. The mask sounds so lovely! It makes me sad that it has a very quick expiry date, but I guess it a excuse to use the mask often!

    1. That's what was so great about the size! I didn't go crazy with it and I got 6 applications from it. I could see myself using larger amounts next time and using it twice a week for two weeks :)
